History of All India Masihi Jamat is interesting and challenging. It was the vision given to Rt. Rev. Bishop Dr. Asad Masih while he was converted from his old faith to new faith in his Christ. He is the man who was following the Muslims teachings and faith very strongly and heartily. Moreover, he was already trained up in Kolkata to become a Muslim peer that was the desire of his grandfather. Even he joined in the West Bengal police. If he could continue that job, then he would have had very good post in his department.
But the plan of God for his life was different and God called him and chose him for his kingdom’s sake. He brought him to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ that was a great turning point for his life. He encountered with Lord in 1988 and had to leave his house on 15 January 1989.
In fact, after his new life in the Lord, he went through many dangers, obstacles, problems, discouragement, blames and persecution. The Lord was with him according to His word found in Matthew 28:20 that “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” He was faithful to follow Christ and his teaching. He submitted his whole life expansion of His Kingdom. It was interesting to know how he went through Bible training and equipped himself for the ministry. He got married and was challenged by his wife; she is a missionary minded woman, who was converted from an orthodox Hindu family.
It was with that vision; the Lord put the burden for the lost souls in the heart of Rev. Asad and Shuvra. In 1992 they reached in Delhi and started holistic ministry. They are the initiators and founder of this organization called All India Masihi Jamat was register on 26 fully involved in church planting ministry in the seven states of India. Apart from that it is closely associated with the social developmental work in the country. Since its inception the Lord has been expanding His kingdom through this wonderful ministry especially among neighbours (religious leaders).
